MEET SYNDY B.

I know what it takes to rebuild.

I’m Syndy B., a licensed financial professional, entrepreneur, and Founder of The Legacy Bureau™.

My perspective on money was shaped by years in banking, lending, and business—and by moments in my own life when income, access, and financial independence became deeply personal.

I understand the ambition to build something meaningful. I also understand how quickly life can change what you thought was secure.

I learned that lesson in my own life.

In my twenties, I was earning well as a loan officer and building what looked like a comfortable future. Then my marriage began falling apart as the housing market collapsed.

I went from making six figures to confronting a reality I had never imagined: I had very little money I could call my own.

Leaving meant rebuilding. It also changed what I wanted financial security to mean in my life.

I wanted access. I wanted choices. I wanted to know that my ability to make a decision would not depend entirely on someone else.

Years later, when my husband unexpectedly needed triple-bypass surgery, questions about income, liquidity, and preparation became immediate again.

Those experiences stay with me. They influence the questions I ask and the care I bring to conversations with people navigating their own responsibilities and uncertainty.

My career gave me a wider view of the problem.

My work has taken me through banking, mortgage lending, loan modification, entrepreneurship, and business strategy and operations.

During the housing crisis, I helped more than 3,000 homeowners navigate the loan-modification process as they worked to keep their homes. I saw how quickly a disruption could threaten something people had spent years building.

Through The Unbroken Experience, I later worked with businesses and leaders on strategy, operations, leadership, and growth. I saw a different version of that exposure: businesses dependent on one person, one client, or systems that could not support what came next.

Eventually, I recognized the connection.

I had spent my career solving different versions of the same problem: vulnerability.

The industries changed. The problem didn’t.

Understanding the options changed what I did for my own family.

I first became licensed in life and health insurance in 2010. As my understanding of insurance deepened, I began to see possibilities I had not understood earlier in life—including how certain policies could provide protection while also developing cash value.

I needed to understand the mechanics, the numbers, and the tradeoffs for myself.

Before helping other families explore those decisions, I put coverage in place for my own family. That experience strengthened my belief in understanding what you own and why you own it.

Today, my work through The Legacy Bureau™ focuses on life insurance, indexed universal life insurance, and annuities. My broader experience helps me keep the person’s circumstances at the center of that conversation.

What I want for my children shapes what legacy means to me.

I want my children to make decisions because they want to—not because financial necessity leaves them without another choice.

That influences how I think about teaching them, creating opportunities, and preparing them to take responsibility for their own futures.

It also informs Build Beyond™, the philosophy I’m developing around moving from surviving what happened to intentionally building what comes next.

My story is part of that belief. What happened matters. So does what we choose to build afterward.

Bring your questions.

You may be building, rebuilding, approaching retirement, or realizing that the protection you put in place years ago deserves another look.

You don’t need to know the product name or have everything organized before we speak.

We can begin with where you are and what you want to understand.
